Energy Behind Thoughts (August 4, 2004)

Okay, so perhaps in this week before school I'm getting too pensive, but what else is a blog for if not to post thoughts that many would laugh at you for. Of course, many may laugh while reading it but that's fine for you are free to your own opinion. And here is mine...

Everything we think, say or do puts forth energy into the universe. We all know that we can hurt others with words and actions. However, just by simply thinking something hateful puts forth the energy to put that thought into action. Regardless of whether we act or not, the energy was still created. One of the most profound things I learned from a teacher was this..."Even if you don't say it out loud, their soul still hears it." I really think what this boils down to is a little word called responsibility.

If you are responsible for your own thoughts and actions and this message is taken to heart, you most likely will not put forth that much negative energy. It's those that are not willing to take responsibility for their thoughts and actions that go about acting nice when inside they are thinking terrible thoughts and all along thinking they are a better person because they did not act upon those thoughts. Of course I'm not trying to advocate going out and hitting people or yelling at them. What I AM advocating is that you start by facing the things inside of yourself that you dislike. These are often the things that anger you when you see it mirrored in others. Whatever they are, everyone has faults. Forgive yourself and face up to it and make a conscious effort to change it. Much easier said than done, but it CAN be done. All you need is to sincerely release yourself from your fears and pain. Once you start, at least as far as I can tell, you wonder why you didn't do this sooner. Only by healing yourself will you be able to change...and as you change, so will others around you. Perhaps this post has been a bit too spiritual for this site, but it is another side of me and one that is comming more and more into the fore as time goes on...and besides, I'm not the first, nor will I be the last, to give this advice. I am merely concerned about the state I see the world in...so much anger and pain and fear as I watch the news and people are so lost in their own selfish intentions that they THINK they are being better people by only thinking instead of acting, when in fact, the damage on the human spirit is nearly the same. At least...this is how I see it.

Words of inspiration: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." ~Ghandi
